Museum, Information Centre, local exhibition gallery & gift shop.
Eyemouth Museum is based in the centre of the town and documents the fishing and social heritage of Eyemouth, brought to life in its exhibits and through stories from local people. Central to the museum is the famous Eyemouth Tapestry that commemorats the Great East Coast Fishing Disaster of 1881, known as Black Friday, when 129 Eyemouth men lost their lives at sea. Pick up a copy of the Town Trail leaflet and follow the plaques to learn more about Eyemouth’s history.
Through our Information Centre, we work in partnership with Visit Scotland to provide a central point for visitors keen to find out what the area has to offer.
We are a charitable trust and are wholly reliant on the support of members as well as the proceeds from our excellent gift shop. We source local produce, interesting literature and gifts in keeping with the area. Do your souvenir shopping with us and support a worthy cause at the same time.
Make Eyemouth Museum your first port of call when visiting the area!
